NEW YORK GOES MUNICH
The success story of RUFF’S BURGER began in 2008 with a snack trailer at the Schwabing weekly market on Münchner Freiheit. Every Thursday, a queue stretched across Münchner Freiheit in front of our ‘pushcart’. It was a fantastic feeling – but unfortunately there were always customers who left frustrated without food because the waiting time was too long for them. We had to change that.
THE FIRST REAL SHOP
So in 2012, we rented a shop at Occamstraße 4, perfectly located for our regular customers in Schwabing. The small shop forced us to transfer the compact space concept of our pushcart to a closed room.
RUFF’S DOUBLES IN SIZE
In 2014, we opened our second diner at Rindermarkt 6, and in the same year we opened our first restaurant RUFF’S BURGER & BBQ, also at Occamstraße 4, right next to our snack bar.
STUDENTS LOVE US
High quality at a good price. No surprise: students and Maxvorstadt locals have been flocking to the new RUFF’S BURGER & BBQ in Türkenstraße since 2016.
RUFF’S BURGER AT THERME ERDING
RUFF’S BURGER has opened its doors at Therme Erding. Since December 2016, we have been spoiling the guests of Europe’s largest thermal spa in Erding with our burgers and fries. Around 1.8 million guests visit Therme Erding every year.
BONJOUR MESDAMES ET MESSIEURS
Since March 2017, we have been serving our burgers to visitors to ‘The Style Outlet’ on the German–French border in Roppenheim.This makes us a small international burger chain with a location in beautiful France.
RUFF’S BURGER IN A TRENDY NEIGHBOURHOOD
RUFF’S BURGER & BAR in Müllerstraße has been very successful in the Glockenbach district with its many other gastronomic highlights since 2018.
MOIN HAMBURG
We entered into a strategic partnership with Otto’s Burger from Hamburg in 2020. The aim is to further develop the well–established brands in southern and northern Germany and thus build the strongest player in the better burger segment in Germany. Both Otto’s and Ruff’s stand for handmade food ‘without a lot of fuss’ with high-quality ingredients from the region. We can now proudly claim to have good friends in the north.
THE SKY IS THE LIMIT
In the last four years, numerous restaurants and diners have been added throughout Germany, including: Munich (6x), Erding, Nuremberg, Regensburg, Passau, Ansbach, Weiden, Hamburg, Roppenheim, Mönchengladbach, Stuttgart, Cologne, Düsseldorf, Essenbach, Neufahrn and Sindelfingen.
In 2024, Ruff’s Burger was honoured with the Hamburg Foodservice Award as part of the Gustoso Group.
